Got a sata hard drive but not sure if I can use it . I have a Gigabyte m/b
GA-7VT600-L, I know the chipset (VIA KT600) supports sata, but on this board
there are no sata connectors on board. If I buy a controller card and stick
it in a pci slot will I still see the speed that the sata drive is capable
of or will the pci bus restrict me?

Thanks in advance for a help,

ST

if you get a good enough SATA RAID card, it will maintain high data
throughput, and give you more RAID options than those offered by the
motherboard. What price range were you thinking of?

Probably up to about $70.00 or less......hate spending more then I paid for
the drive. What do you think.

Thanks,
